Bombala Lions Changeover Dinner

A CHEERFUL gathering was enjoyed at the Bombala Golf Club on Saturday evening, with the Bombala Lions Club welcoming special guests, members and friends to their Annual Changeover Dinner.

Amongst the guests were Member for Monaro, Steve Whan who joined visiting Lions member from Bermagui, Keith McKee in making the official presentations of the evening.

As part of the addresses of the night, Mr McKee gave mention to the fact that Lions is the biggest volunteer group in the world, while outgoing President, Clare Trevanion delivered her President’s Report outlining a very busy year for Bombala Lions.

Following the report, which encompassed everything from work towards the river walking track upgrade to the success of the street carnival, MP Steve Whan then presented Ms Trevanion with a Parliamentary Banner for the local Lions Club.

Also as part of the Changeover, Mr McKee inducted two new members to Bombala Lions, with Alan and Fay Simpson being welcomed, while their sponsor, Kevin Turnbull was presented with a Monarch for 30 years of service to the Club.

Of course the induction of the new board was the focus of the Changeover, with the following positions taken up for 2009/10

President, Charlie Thompson; Secretary, John Adamson; Treasurer, Murray Garnock; 1st Vice President, Ray Turnbull; 2nd Vice President, Kevin Turnbull; 3rd Vice President, Graham Hampshire; Assistant Secretary/ Treasurer, Margaret Cotterill; 1 Year Director, Neville Murphy; 1 Year Director, John Hood; 2 Year Director Rob Dent’; 2 Year Director, Elizabeth (Liz) Peadon; Tail Twister, TBA; Lion Tamer, Colin Green; Immediate Past President, Clare Trevanion; Bulletin Editor, John Hood.
