WHEN you picture yourself in your 90s, you hope you’ll be able to get yourself out of bed, and perhaps even manage a cup of tea – but we know one 96 year old who’s planning his next skydiving adventure!
Curly Taylor, father of local lady Sandra O’Hagan and well known in the Delegate area for many years, is happily preparing for his sixth jump in March this year.
Astonishingly, Curly had his first skydive when he was 78 years old, tandem jumping with his son Keith, who at the time was a skydiving instructor.
Since then he has thoroughly enjoyed four more tandem jumps, having had the pleasure of diving with several family members, including two of his granddaughters.
Of course he has plenty of tales to tell about his skydiving adventures, including the time a group of professional jumpers made a ring around him in the air, and another of his granddaughter getting special permission to jump with him at the tender age of 13.
And at 96 years young, Curly couldn’t be more enthusiastic about his next dive, eager to get back on the plane and take the plunge once again!
