Local house burns

A DEVESTATING house fire destroyed a well loved home in Delegate on Monday morning.

Local authorities were alerted to the fire and responded as quickly as possible, but despite their best efforts were unable to save the Hayden Street home.

No one was injured in the blaze, but the building itself was severely damaged.

AN INVESTIGATION into a leaked document will be carried out by Bega Valley Shire Council after the matter was raised by mayor Cr Tony Allen at council’s meeting this week. The document was a letter from the office of the Minister for Health Carmel Tebbutt to general manager Peter Tegart with answers to questions he sought on behalf of council about health issues in the Bega Valley, including the proposed Bega Hospital development.
