IT looks like we have plenty of alternative builders in our midst, with a good number of locals rolling up in Delegate on Saturday to learn from a fascinating cob oven building workshop.

Grant Walker of Nimmitabel welcomed around a dozen participants to the session held at Bill Jeffreys Park, with the principles of building with cob being covered.
The group then delighted in rolling up their sleeves - and even taking their shoes off - to work through the various stages of the cob oven building process.
The result was a fabulous cob oven that will now be raffled off in November, with the builders also pretty keen to get in and start building ovens for their own backyards.
So popular was the workshop that another will now be held on October 17 to build a cob oven that will remain in the park for public use, as promised to the community.
Again the session will be free of charge, and Grant will be leading the way, with those interested in taking part being encouraged to ring the Visitors Information Centre on 6458 4622.
