THE Mayor of Bombala Council, Bob Stewart, held a reception on Wednesday, July 21 to acknowledge the achievements of local athletes who have been scholarship holders with the South East Regional Academy of Sport (SERAS) during 2010.
SERAS Executive Director, Garry Lane, provided an update on the academy and outlined what services will be delivered in 2011.
He then introduced this year’s scholarship holders to the Mayor who presented them with a certificate to commemorate their year on scholarship with the Academy.
Mayor Stewart responded by acknowledging the good work done by the academy and confirming Council’s ongoing support.
Athletes from the Bombala region who are scholarship holders in 2010 include Keiren Rodwell and Zach White for basketball, and Clarra McKinnel, who is part of the Country Energy Program through her swimming.
