PAMBULA Beach resident and Bombala shooter, Brent Wilton, has once again made the New South Wales Junior Team for the National Titles to be held in Wagga at the National Centre in April 2010.
This will be Brent’s second year in a row for this prestigious selection.
A student at Lumen Christie College, Brent is enjoying the pleasure of mixing Year 12 studies with his number one sport.
Shooting at the State titles recently, Brent shot 314 targets out of 325 to finish third in the junior event.
First and second shooters, Jason Owen from Narromine and Matt Schiller from Grenfell, scored just one more target to finish on 315/325.
Prior to the Wagga carnival, Brent had not been shooting up to his own usual high standards. School and other demands - fishing, for one - had created a little distraction from his shooting.
This probably worked in his favour, however, as he arrived at the shoot completely relaxed and proceeded to shoot his way into the State team again.
Brent should be congratulated for this outstanding effort.
Whist Brent is a registered member of the Bombala Club, senior shooters from both Cooma and Bega clubs, where he is a regular shooter, will be cheering for him come April next year.
It is great to see local juniors achieving success at both State and National level.
