Mini Triathlon attracts record numbers

THE Mini Triathlon which kicked off our Australia Day Celebrations last Saturday was a very solid success this year, with a record number of entrants taking on the challenge.

Both team and individual events were run, comprising of laps at the Bombala Swimming Pool, running around the Bombala River Track and then a bicycle leg through some of Bombala’s streets.

Many different ages took part in the event, and organisers were very pleased to welcome competitors from Cooma for the first time this year.

Results are as follows -

Ages 8-10

Girls: 1st Molly Badewitz; 2nd Bridget Lunn.

Boys: 1st Pierre Wall (Cooma); 2nd Callum Bedingfield.

Ages 11-13

Girls: 1st Louisa Wall (Cooma); 2nd Chloe Neven.

Boys: 1st Daniel McKinnell; 2nd Alex Rosten.

Open

Girls: 1st Marni Moreing.

Boys: 1st Chris Wall (Cooma).

Mixed teams

1st Rhonda Stewart, Peter Jones, John Neven; 2nd Colin Green, Cleo Cresswell, Steve Goodyer.
