The pool is open and Swimming Club has begun!

THROW on your swimmers and grab a towel – the new look Bombala Swimming Pool is open!

We only get a narrow window for swimming in Bombala, and it is certain the facility will be well utilised, with everyone from the school kids to the seniors eagerly diving in.

The pool can be used for serious fitness sessions, swimming lessons and of course simple relaxation and fun, with entry fees this season as follows –

Children (school age and/or below) $3; Adults $5; Season Tickets, Child $54, Adults $90, Family $180; Teachers accompanying school groups $5;

Instructors conducting swimming classes $5; Non–swimming adults (no access to pool) $2.

Season tickets can be purchased from the Bombala Council office.

Doors to the pool will open from 11am, and everyone can enjoy the watery fun up until 6pm daily.

So start crossing fingers for some nice hot weather, and make the most of the Bombala Swimming Pool and its newly upgraded amenities!

THE Bombala District Swimming Club (BDSC) would like to welcome all members (new and old) to the 2012/2013 swimming season.

The club held its registration afternoon on Monday, November 26, and this was followed by the first training night of the season.

“The Bombala District Swimming Club caters for swimmers of all ages and levels of ability,” said Club President, Kathleen Platts.

“However, the club does not cater for ‘Learn to Swim’ pupils.  To be eligible to join swimming club you must be able to swim a lap across the pool unaided and swim a recognisable stroke.

“Adult lap swimmers are also very welcome to join swimming club on a Monday night between 5-6pm.

“Even though our swimming season is short compared to other pools, the club makes every effort to keep its swimmers active and swimming throughout the season.”

For example, the BDSC will train every Monday night throughout the summer school holidays with the exception of December 24 and 31.

“So come along and join our swimming club today to have fun, make new friends, learn a new stroke, improve your swimming and fitness,” Mrs Platts said.
