Over 70 players from across the region competed in the Kurrawatha Open Triples Carnival held in Bombala over the weekend.
OVER the weekend we played our Annual Kurrawatha Open Triples Carnival.
This carnival was kindly sponsored by Nolan’s Autopro and Landmark Bombala-Delegate, with total prize money of $2,800.
With a full field of 28 teams or 72 players, they battled it out on Saturday to be ranked into four divisions.
Division 1 was made up of the six best performing teams, Division 2 the next six, Division 3 the next eight, and Division 4 the remaining eight.
The winner of Division 1 was a Queanbeyan side skipped by an old Bombala face, Wayne Brownlie, with three wins +17. Second was a Merimbula side with two wins, a draw +13,
Division 2 was won by a Merimbula side with three wins +39, second was John and Pat Lomas of Bombala and Ian Lucas of Eden with two wins +3.
In Division 3 first went to a Candelo side with three wins +39, second also went to a Candelo side with three wins +22.
Division 4 first went to an Eden side with three wins +21, second went to a Cooma side with two wins -10.
All in all another great carnival with the weather being very kind. From all reports everyone enjoyed the weekend immensely, and can’t wait till the next one.
