Delegate Show is back!

HAVING missed out last year, the community was delighted to welcome back the Delegate Show on Saturday, with the cloudy weather failing to dim spirits for the 105th event.

The patchy weather meant that gate numbers were slightly lower, but the kitchen and kiosk both had higher takings, and the crowd grew as the afternoon progressed.

The horse events were once again a big feature of the show as many took advantage of the change in classes to enter more events, while the yard dog trials, and the cattle and sheep sections were also healthy.

Of course the pavilion was another highlight of the Delegate Show this year, and considering the season, the flower section was surprisingly impressive.

In fact most of the sections were, with very high numbers in the art, photography and knitting, while the Delegate Public School entries also shone.

Meanwhile Zamboni the magician was busily entertaining, the gold panning stall was running hot, the RFS bus was a hit and several information and trading stands were perused. And this was just the tip of the iceberg!

Throw in the showgirl and baby competition, junior judging, the billy boiling and sheep colouring, and Delegate shared a fantastic and full day with its visitors.

Although the evening was cool, many stayed on for the barbecue and the live music afterwards, with some exciting fire twirling capping off the very successful 105th Delegate Show.
