TAFE underway at new facility

A RANGE of TAFE courses are underway at the Bombala Facility for Industry Training at Bombala High School.

Some of the courses include Computer Skills for Work or Further Study, Business and Administration Certificate III, Information Technology Certificate II and Children’s Services Certificate II (part time).

Most of the courses will be conducted on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday both during the day and of an evening.

The range of courses offers local residents the opportunity to study these in demand skills without having to travel to Cooma or Bega to attend TAFE.

The Cooma TAFE is keen to expand its services in the district into other industry areas.

Last week Hospitality and Agriculture Head Teachers visited the school to look into the possibility of courses in these areas in the future.

This could include shorter “ticket” style qualifications including Chemical Applications, Chainsaw Operations, Quad Bike Training, Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Conduct of Gambling as well as full Certificate III and IV courses in Agriculture and Hospitality.
