THE incoming Board of Directors of Bombala Lions Club were sworn in by Zone Chairman Brian Farmer on Saturday, June 29 at the Bombala Golf Club.
A delicious meal was provided by the Bombala Golf Club ladies and some mind bending questions were posed by the legendary quiz master, John Pereira.
Outgoing President, Clare Trevanion made note of the fact in her President’s message that the club had been very active throughout the year and had made donations of around $17,000 to various charities and local groups.
Of especial significance was a $10,000 donation to the Bombala Council for the purchase of a new dual BBQ to be installed in the Ginger Leigh rotunda which will be of great benefit to the town and visitors alike.
Claire also reflected upon the sad loss of Neville Murphy who was an active member of our club, and Alan Yelds a former member who passed away throughout the year and will be very much missed by all members.
Claire also made presentations of Chevrons recognising years of service to several members of the club ranging from 10 years to 35 years.
All present enjoyed the day and appreciated the toast to Lions International made by Mayor Bob Stewart, and the wonderful catering by the Bombala Golf Club ladies and staff of the club.
