PROVING their growing talents and developing skills, two of our young local woodchoppers have been selected to represent the NSW Under 21s at the Melbourne Royal Show in September this year.
Both Jackson Standen and Cheyanne Girvan have been chosen to compete, based on their strong performances in other events through the South East Axeman’s Association.
Cheyanne is in fact the first female ever selected to compete for the team.
She will be taking part in the Double Handed Cross Cut Sawing, while Jackson will compete in the Underhand.
Both have been training hard to ensure their best performance at the Melbourne Show, and they are to be commended for being selected for such a high level of competition.
In the lead-up Cheyanne will also travel to South Australia to compete in a series of woodchopping events at the Adelaide Royal Show.
It is a big undertaking on behalf of these young competitors and their families to prepare, travel and compete, and we wish them the best of luck in their events.
