THE Bombala Junior Rugby League Football Club celebrated the end of a quiet but rewarding season with its annual presentation day and AGM on Saturday.
With low numbers this year, the club was only able to field Under 7 and
Under 8s teams, but the youngsters still put in a big effort and enjoyed an active season.
All players were congratulated for their participation during the presentation afternoon, with special awards going to –
Most Improved – Fletcher Manning;
Highest Point Scorer – Jaiden Clear;
Best and Fairest - Xander Paynter;
Best Performing Team – Under 8s.
The children also enjoyed a barbecue and some casual games of footy as part of the presentation day, and got to have their faces painted to add a little colour to the afternoon at the Exhibition Ground.
Meanwhile the club also held its AGM, with the following new committee being elected –
President – Simone Hillyer;
Vice President – Gary Brownlie;
Secretary – Julie-Ann Robinson;
Treasurer – Katrina Brownlie.
Urgent call for help!
The Junior Football Club is busily preparing for the upcoming 60 year anniversary of school boys football in the district.
Celebrations are planned for November 23 this year, and a call has gone out for any memorabilia that will help add to the event.
Although there must be a huge amount of photos and other material out there, very few have so far come forward to share their memorabilia with the club.
Organisers are very keen to start getting preparations off the ground so if you have any old photos, the names of players or teams involved over the years, or any other memorabilia that may be of help, please get in touch.
You can contact Tracy on 0487 651 996 or email@example.com, and Simone on 0411 597 866 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to contribute.
