MOST locals will already know this, but now there’s further confirmation that if your children are being cared for by Dianne Ingram they are in good hands. In very exciting news, the Bombala based Monaro Family Day Care educator has been named local winner in the Family Day Care Australia Educator of the Year Awards.
Dianne has been a registered educator with Monaro Family Day Care for the past 13 years and has provided home–based child care for many local children during this time.
Presently she cares for children aged 8 months to 11 years, not only providing care during the day for young children but also opening her home to children after school. Dianne has a very supportive husband, David who is always aware of the importance of home safety and the time and effort that running a business within your home takes.
“Congratulations to Dianne and David on this award, Monaro Family Day Care are very proud that their efforts have been acknowledged,” Sandra Crimmins of MFDC said.
Dianne is one of 14,000 family day care educators providing quality early childhood education and care to over 112,000 children across Australia. Family day care is a regulated early childhood service provided by qualified educators in a small group, familiar, home based environment.
Family Day Care Australia Chief Executive Officer Carla Northam says she is overwhelmed by the heartfelt stories from parents across the country about the incredible service provided by family day care educators like Dianne.
“Each of the 2500 educators nominated for awards holds a special place in the hearts of the families who nominated them,” Mrs Northam says.
“There is no greater responsibility than to be entrusted with the care and education of a young child, every nomination reflected the importance to parents of the safe, nurturing and educational environment that is family day care.
“To be named the local winner is recognition of Dianne’s dedication to providing quality early childhood education, but also to the wonderful and unique relationship between educators like Diane and the children in their care.”
Dianne will now be considered for the Family Day Care Australia Educator of the Year National Award. The winner will be announced at the FDCA International Conference in Brisbane in July.
As well as the honour of being named best in the business, state and national winners will share in more than $20,000 worth of prizes including flights, accommodation and an interactive educational system from Eduss Learning worth $5,000.
