Pretty wild winter so far

WE’VE had a mixed bag of weather so far this winter, but there is no doubt the frosts have been bigger than we have become used to, and the general consensus from locals is that it has been the coldest season in a few years.

And last Sunday certainly was a good example, with low temperatures and brief icy showers being made all the more miserable with strong gusts of wind that battered the area, particularly during the night.

While the Bureau of Meteorology clocked Sunday’s wind speeds at 78km an hour, it is believed there were gusts in some local areas of over 100km an hour, and a number of trees lost limbs or were blown to the ground.

While no major harm was done, this left a bit of a clean up for Council and property owners on Monday morning, and we’re all looking forward to things warming up a little!
