THE Coolumbooka Weir may be looking healthy for now, but we all understand the need to conserve water in our area, and the Bombala Council has introduced its usual restrictions for daylight savings time.
The small catchment area and reservoir that supply our township necessitate Council to announce Level One Water Restrictions each year from the October Long Weekend.
These restrictions are thus now in place, and will be in force until the end of daylight savings in April 2014, unless the community is otherwise notified.
Level 1 Water Restrictions allow for the following water use –
Hand held hoses, buckets, watering cans, 6pm – 9am;
Fixed hoses and sprinklers, 6pm – 8pm and 7am - 9am;
In ground irrigation systems without timer, 6pm – 7pm;
In ground irrigation systems with times (max of one hour per period), 6pm-8am;
Washing of motor vehicles, no restrictions;
Washing of paved and sealed surfaces, 6pm - 8pm and 7am - 10am.
