A GREAT night was had by all at the Bluetongues end of year Presentation Night on Saturday.
A superb meal was provided by the team from Rush Hour in the new-look Globe Hotel, while the launch of Bluetongues Poker topped the night’s festivities off nicely.
Awards presented for the season:
Best Forward - John Guthrie. Who had a great year, playing week in week out, putting in a massive effort each game.
Best Back - Rhys Crouch. Rhys had a top year, ever improving with each year of rugby he plays, leading by example he was outstanding in both attack and defence all year.
Rookie of the Year - Jessierey Abinal. First year of rugby for Jessierey, who from the start of the year until the end was improving into a very good front rower for the Bluetongues. Look forward to seeing him on the paddock again next year.
Most Trys and Highest Points Scorer - Rhys Crouch. At inside centre this year Rhys scored seven trys and finished with 35 individual points for the year.
Best & Fairest - Sio Papalii. Another exceptional performance from Sio in 2013, leading from the front, big in both attack and defence. Sio received the most votes in our 3,2,1 points for the year.
Coaches Award/Most improved - Terry Tighe. Terry improved hugely this year in all aspects of his game, and was a stand out for this award. We are all looking forward to Terry taking the field next season.
Players Player - Digby Walcott. Digby stepped into scrum half this year and guided the team around the paddock. His commitment each week was top shelf and he is a popular choice for this award by all his teammates.
Club Person of the Year - Andrew Girvan. Girvo couldn't play this year through injury, however he was always first to offer help whether it was a home or away game throughout 2013. His support this year was greatly appreciated from the players, the committee and the club as a whole. Cheers, Girvo.
The Bluetongues also announced their first inductee into the Bluetongues Life Member Club, Andrew "AB" Boreham, who has been with the club from day dot and is a key member. Thanks AB for all your help on and off the field always, cheers.

Bluetongues Poker nights will continue at the Globe Hotel from here on. Next night will be this Saturday, November 2, $20 deep stack, 6pm rego for 7pm start.
