S.Africa v Australia, Third Test, Day 3

Full, live coverage of the series-deciding Test against South Africa in Cape Town.

Good evening everybody. We have an early start to play on day three due to much of day two being washed out.

The big news is that captain and century-maker Michael Clarke has declared Australia's innings closed at 7-494.

Play is scheduled to get underway at 7pm Sydney time - just moments away.

It's on! Ryan Harris bowls to Graeme Smith - and the ball swings quite a way back in to the left hander. It is overcast in Cape Town today and there should be a bit of movement for the bowlers on an otherwise good batting deck.

South Africa 0-5 after Harris's first over and now Mitchell Johnson will open from the other end.

Looking forward to seeing what Johnson does here. These condition, I think, will suit him perfectly. One more outstanding performance for the summer from Mitch?

Harris is keeping it full - and overpitches that one, which Smith square drives for four.
