Having acquired Shaun Hampson over the summer, Richmond have further secured their ruck stocks by re-signing Ivan Maric for a further two years.
The new deal means Maric will remain a Tiger until the end of 2016.
"We're thrilled to have Ivan commit to the club for another two seasons," Richmond football manager Dan Richardson said on the club's official website.
"He has become an incredibly consistent and valued member of the playing group at Richmond, and has added strong leadership qualities, both on and off the field."
Maric is yet to play a senior game in 2014, as he makes slow progress in his recovery from ankle surgery.
A favourite of the the Tigers' faithful, 28-year-old Maric crossed from Adelaide at the end of 2011 having been confined largely to a peripheral role at the Crows. He proved to be a revelation in his first season at Punt Road, finishing third in the Jack Dyer Medal, although his impact was more subdued in 2013.
Richmond will doubtless be keen to have Maric return soon following a stuttering 1-2 start to the season. The Tigers face Collingwood this Friday night at the MCG in what looks to be a crucial encounter for both sides.
