Alessandro Del Piero appears set to continue his playing career in the United States having reportedly held talks with Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy as well as gaining interest from DC United.

Italian media is reporting Del Piero is in discussions with the club and is currently in Los Angeles with his family on holiday.
The 39-year-old has been available as a free agent since leaving Sydney FC last week and has emerged as the number one transfer target of LA Galaxy according to Sky Sport Italia. Del Piero has been interested in playing in the United States for some time and regularly visits Los Angeles for holidays during the off-season.
Italian media reported Del Piero is not yet interested in retiring or coaching and is eager to continue playing. His agent and brother, Stefano, said there has been a large number of offers for the former Juventus captain but his preference is to play in the United States.
Del Piero is also said to be in discussions with Washington-based club DC United with the move being facilitated by owner Erick Thorir. The Indonesian businessman has strong links with Italian football after becoming the majority shareholder of Inter Milan six months ago and has made an approach for the Italian forward in conjunction with major sponsor, Adidas.
A potential move to the MLS could jeopardise Del Piero's participation in the August 10 A-League All Stars match despite the former Sydney FC star being contracted for the match. Del Piero has already been specifically contracted by the Football Federation of Australia to captain the All Stars in his first-ever match against his former club, Juventus, but may not be able to fulfil his obligations due to the clash of the MLS season with the event.
Due to the World Cup, the MLS will take a break in June before resuming in July and concluding the regular season in October. The FFA was unavailable for comment when contacted by Fairfax Media on Thursday.
