THE snow predicted for last Friday and Saturday failed to arrive, but rest assured the cold certainly made it!
Saturday was particularly miserable, with rain being blown in on strong winds, and temperatures dropping to -1.2°, eventually making around 7° at best.
While we received around 22.5mms of rain over the chilly weekend, there were only occasional flurries of snow in the immediate area.
On Brown Mountain and at the Nimmitabel turn-off, however, the snow plough was required, and this prevented the rugby league from going ahead as scheduled in Bombala on Saturday, with Bega teams unable to attend.
All in all it made for a pretty miserable weekend, although Monday almost made up for it, with a pretty -5° frost giving way to beautiful sunshine that everyone appreciated.
We might be lucky enough to score a few days like that, then a return to showers is predicted later in the week, with snow tending to rain forecast for this coming Sunday.
