Eleven turbines are now fully installed at Boco Rock.

Both turbine component deliveries and installations are scheduled to continue over the coming months, and with activities being planned around weather forecasts.

“We are working closely with contractors and authorities to ensure turbine deliveries and installations are undertaken safely,” Adrian Oakey of CWP Renewables said.

“We’ve now had snow at the project site, which has created some 

challenges, but we are working through them and making headway – and enjoying the change to the landscape.

“When assessing weather conditions, wind speeds and visibility are two factors taken into consideration. 

“Ironically, one of the constraints for construction of a wind farm is high wind speeds, exactly what we look for in a wind farm site. 

“However, weather conditions like we’ve seen over the last few weeks are factored into construction schedules, and some periods of downtime are always anticipated,” he said.

Other activities at Boco Rock include the remaining civil works and transmission line construction. 

Civil activities at the site, including road laying and turbine foundation pours, will begin to wind up over the coming weeks as the last of the foundations are completed. 

Stringing of the transmission line has progressed to the Monaro and Snowy Mountains Highway, towards Steeple Flat where the 

project will connect into the electricity grid.
