Bombala Police Officer Constable Nathan Marks said it was reported that an unknown person or persons had entered the school grounds during the weekend and deliberately damaged the school bus located at the rear of the main building.
The bus was damaged – its tyres were slashed and windows scratched.
“The bus is used for school activities and this incident has affected the ability of its use, costing the school greatly,” Constable Marks said.
“A number of other school items were disrupted and the drinking water located in the tank was contaminated,” he said.
“We are seeking assistance from the local community with information relating to this terrible crime,” he said.
Constable Marks said extra patrols would be deployed and the potential use of hidden cameras to catch those responsible would be investigated.
The Bombala High School was the subject of a break and enter in June this year when the music room was broken into.
A custom build electric guitar was stolen from the room.
“It’s with great pleasure to inform the community that it has been recovered and a suspect has been identified,” Constable Marks said.
“This outcome was greatly assisted by the local media and ongoing police investigations,” he said.
