Clearly Usain Bolt hasn't tried the haggis curry bites at the restaurant around the corner from our luxurious eight-star hotel. Surely, if he had, the sprinting great may not have had a crack at Glasgow, allegedly calling the Commonwealth Games (or the city, or both), ''a bit shit''. He's denied the quote, which was on the front page of The Times, as has his manager. The plus side is he was immediately given the keys to Edinburgh. The bad news is he can't leave the athlete's village without a security detail. The Glaswegians are friendly types ... to a point. At least he can run fast.

Bolt's teammate, sprinter Jason Livermore, did a bit of moaning about the weather when interviewed by the BBC after his race. It's been a bit miserable in Glasgow for the past few days, which is making it tough for the Jamaicans apparently. Glasgow Kiss is proud to issue a big ''suck it up'' to all parties. We weren't aware Jamaica was the ONLY hot country competing here in Scotland. Can someone get the man a hot water bottle and a cardigan?
Name game
Australian Georgie Parker is a hell of a hockey player. She's a key part of the Hockeyroos side going for gold in Glasgow but clearly has a decent sense of humour as well. You may have noticed she shares a name with a certain actress. Do you think it's ever been pointed out? Here's her twitter bio: ''Australian Hockeyroo #19.. Spelling it out
Journos are probably the last people to have a crack at the poor spelling/grammar of others but the press release from Australian athletics coach Eric Hollingsworth was notable for all the wrong reasons. Obviously the content was highly questionable but who did he find to write the thing? It included gems like ''Some time has past (sic) since Sally’s camp...'' and ''So via her agent she sort (sic) a meeting...''. Anyway, Glasgow Kiss wishes Eric the verry best and hopes he has a grate Games and a safe flite home.
Scottish words of the day
''Gie it laldy''. It's been flashed on big screens all around the various venues of the Commonwealth Games. It means to sing something loudly and with gusto. So there you go. Gie it laldy! Go on then son.
Old Firm
The famed rivalry between Glasgow soccer clubs Celtic and Rangers is the stuff of legend. And visitors to the city aren't being shy in picking up a few souvenirs. The Celtic Superstore in the middle of the city looks like it's been doing a cracking trade. But Rangers may have the last laugh. Outside of Ibrox, their home stadium, their store is at the airport, where useless blokes lke me tend to do most of their shopping.
