The youth was reported to police by a witness who saw him driving in Maybe Street, Bombala.
Bombala Police Officer Constable Steven Gay said that it was great to see community members in the town keeping an eye out for crime.
“With this particular case the alleged offender is a known for driving unlicensed, he has never held a NSW Licence and continues to drive,” he said.
“A community member saw him driving and reported it to police.
“In a small town unfortunately the police can’t be everywhere all the time, but with the community’s help we can stop behaviour like this .
“We have a great working relationship with the community and that’s the beauty of a small town.”
Constable Gay stressed the seriousness of the 16-year-old male’s alleged actions and said he will appear in court in October.
