BOMBALA turned yellow on Friday, August 22, as part of Daffodil Day, the national day of hope for Australians to show they care about beating cancer.

Many community groups got involved in the day selling flowers and other merchandise.
Bombala Primary School students wore yellow to show their support and the National Australia Bank was the place to be to buy a Cancer Council pin.
National Bank staff member Jody Jones said she was surprised by the success of the day.
“Last year we raised $1200, this year I think we did pretty well considering we didn’t have a very big stall,” Ms Jones said.
“Cancer is something that touches everyone’s lives, it’s touched mine with my father, and so many other people in the community.
“Everyone loves the smell of fresh daffodils, it puts a smile on their faces and they have supported the cause.”
Cancer Council hopes to raise $9.7 million nationally with funds going towards research, prevention, advocacy programs and support services.
