Officers from Monaro Local Area Command are continuing their investigations after they located a number of firearms which had been reported stolen from the Bombala area on Sunday.

On August 31, 2014, an 84-year-old man contacted police after a .22 and a .222 calibre rifle, a drill, and a pair of binoculars were allegedly stolen from his car parked on Maybe Street on Saturday night.
Following inquiries by officers and detectives from Bombala and Cooma, a search warrant was executed on Maybe Street, Bombala, about 11pm Sunday.
Two rifles, a pair of binoculars, a drill, ammunition and a slingshot were allegedly located and seized.
A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Bombala Police Station.
He was charged with eight offences including unlawful possession of the firearms and ammunition and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The man was refused bail and will appear at the Queanbeyan Local Court Monday.
