Member for Monaro, John Barilaro, inspected the paint job that was made possible through an $8140 grant, on Monday.
Mr Barilaro said members of the Nimmitabel Advancement Group used the cash to have the exterior of the community centre spruced up.
“The community centre hasn’t been painted for many years and was looking tired; it’s now bright, fresh and welcoming,” Mr Barilaro said.
“Community centres play an important role in our communities, they provide places where people from a range of backgrounds and interests can interact, learn, recreate, be supported and grow.
“The Nimmitabel Community Centre is an important and well- used facility; this injection of funds will help to ensure that it remains up to scratch now and into the future.
“These grants are all about improving the area where people live, engendering respect and pride, and building on the community spirit that’s here already,” he said.
More than 1315 community projects across NSW will share in $90 million allocated to Community Building Partnership program over four years.
The Monaro Electorate was allocated $200,000 to fund a number of community projects.
