The State Championships will be held at the Ettalong Memorial Bowling Club from October 18-25.
Dent and Elliott are scheduled to play on Saturday and Sunday, October 18 and 19.
There are 16 zones in NSW.
Zone 7 covers a massive area – from Gerringong in the north, to Mallacoota, just over the Victorian border, in the south.
The zone takes in Cooma, Jindabyne and Adaminaby in the Snowy Mountains and, of course, the Bombala club on the Monaro.
There are approximately 40 clubs in the zone, making it one of the biggest in the state.
Dent and Elliott were reluctant to sing their own praises when the Bombala Times caught up with them at the Tura Beach Country Club on Saturday, other than to say it was a big honour.
But proud club president Greg Griggs was more forthcoming.
“It’s a huge triumph for a very little club like ours,” Griggs said.
“Given the size of the zone, and the number of clubs in it, it’s an extraordinary achievement for Bombala.
“We’re lucky to have two of the best players right here in our own backyard,” he said.
Griggs wished Dent and Elliott the best of luck for the tournament on behalf of the Bombala club and the district’s residents.
