The Lifecycle ride – in which the riders will cycle 900kms in nine days through 11 South Eastern NSW towns – raised awareness and funds for the ACT Leukaemia Foundation’s new purpose-built respite
centre for patients with blood cancers and other serious blood disorders.
The respite facility, to be known as the John James
Village, will accommodate patients from the South East region, including Bombala, while they undergo treatment at Canberra Hospital.
Bombala’s Peter Sullivan accompanied the riders as they came into town.
A barbecue, hosted by Rotary and Lions, was held at Ginger Leigh Memorial Park.
Mayor Bob Stewart welcomed the riders to town.
