Ms Pajuczok’s best friend of more than 20 years, Rachael Bush, of Eden, told the Bombala Times on Sunday night that this week had been a long time coming.
“We have been mentally and physically preparing for this week for a long time, trying to feel positive that we will get some answers over the next few days,” Ms Bush said.
“At the same time we’re prepared for the worst, that once again this will be left hanging in the air,” she said.
Ms Bush made a plea to the Bombala community to show her and Ms Pajuczok’s family repect while they are in the town.
“This is an extremely hard time for us, just being in the same area as Sylvia was when she disappeared, it’s extremely hard,” Ms Bush said.
Ms Bush was denied permission to hang a photo of Ms Pajuczok in the court on Monday morning.
“They told me the court had to be impartial,” she said.
Instead, she instead left it under the windscreen of her car parked outside the court.
