This year local Bombala lady, Eileen Hampshire was amongst the keen participants hitting the track to raise funds for the Cancer Council, and below she shares her thoughts on the rewarding experience –
“As you all know I went in the Relay for Life on the weekend, walking for the ones in Bombala that have had or still have breast, prostate, lung, pancreatic and leukaemia cancer.
What a great 24 hours it was; you would walk and rest a while. On my last lap of 14kms I was thinking to myself “one day till Monday, look out Dr Pate here I come!”, but I am feeling great.
I myself raised about $1,200 and our team raised about $6,000.
At this stage I would like to thank the great people who gave me donations and support - Ron & Lexie Milliner, MCH Welding, D & M
Automotive, Lions Club, T J Murphy’s Transport, Hair On Main, G & D Hampshire, Bombala Waste Management, Glen and Tracey Hampshire and family.
A very big thank you to Dongwha Timbers for your donation and the caps; we all wore them with pride.
Thank you to all from our entire team, the ANGELS OF HOPE.”
