The weather wasn’t the best on Saturday with a brisk southerly and strong current making it hard to hold bottom.
The wind turned on Sunday however the current made it difficult.
The water temperature was 16 degrees on the ocean and a bit warmer in close.
Batemans Bay Soldiers Club Fishing Club publicity officer Thomas Fitzgerald said the conditions were “still a bit cool” and he thought it did affect his fishing.
“I did find some nice flathead in the Bay and morwong were on the chew out wider,” Fitzgerald said.
Men’s blue water winner was Grant Glenn with a morwong weighing 1.536kg, Murray Cooper won the rock division with a groper at 2.62kg, Paul Ward won the beach division reeling in a red morwong at 570-grams, Adam Krodie won estuary with a 1.998kg salmon and Keith Brooks won the freshwater division with a 576-gram bass.
Sue Voysey won the women’s blue water division weighing in a 1.146kg morwong and Julie Cooper took out the rock division with a 1.108kg blackfish.
Daniel Gellatly was the sub junior boys’ blue water winner, weighing in a 298-gram flathead and Jessy Thompson won the boys’ estuary with a 406-gram bream.
The sub junior girls’ blue water winner was Heather Gellatly with her 438-gram flathead and the biggest flathead prize went to Jacqueline Gellatly with a 768-gram catch.

The Batemans Bay Soldiers Club Fishing Club welcome new members to the club’s events and members can be found at the Soldiers Club on Friday nights at the seafood raffle.
The club’s competitions are usually held on the last weekend of the month.
“We have a trip to Wallaga Lake early November and a freshwater comp at Rainbow Pines in December,” Fitzgerald said.
“Safe fishing and check the new fishing regulations.”
