Mayor Bob Stewart is asking that incorporated community groups submit a short application to Council by November 17. The applications will then be reviewed and a submission made to Southern Phones for funding.
Southern Phones have indicated that the funds must provide a physical asset for or service to the community and they would like to see a number of projects supported.
Projects could benefit a number of areas including health, aged care, youth, environment, sporting and heritage.
Successful community groups will be notified by December 19, 2014 and all funds are to be fully expended by June 30, 2015.
