THIS week Steve and I would like to commend the local community for the quick response to a potential risk of child safety.
Earlier in the week Police received a report of an unknown male person stalking a child in Bombala. The report was taken very seriously and measures were in place to identify the offender.
After further enquiries were made it appears it was a case of mistaken identity and the child was not in danger, however the risk is always present.
Police respond to child safety matters with importance and urge the public to remain vigilant. It was a great effort from the Bombala community and with the help of social media the incident was resolved.
In other news, I recently patrolled the beloved Rockton Falls and am disgusted and disappointed with the large quantities of rubbish that consumes the area. Alcohol bottles and dirty nappies litter the sandy banks causing concerns to Public Safety.
Photographs were taken of the rubbish and damage done to the stairs. It appears a vehicle has been driven down the stair case destroying the wooden stairs making it difficult for people to walk to the falls.
The driver and vehicle are unknown at this time however enquiries will be made and the driver will face large fines for causing the damage.
Locals have been utilising Rockton Falls for a long time and it will be lost due to such behaviour and disrespect.
