Saturday Night was our Presentation Night. Numbers were down with many attending other functions. The night commenced with a light meal with the men looking after the ladies for the night.
Following the meal the presentations of trophies won during the season got under way.
There was a lot of laughter but it was also an emotional evening with President Brendan speaking of the sadness felt by all with the passing of Life Member Bob Johnson, who had been part of the club for more years then the majority of the gathering could remember, and Rick Ingram who was enjoying his golf after a long break from the game.
Brendan called on Bob’s son Glen to present The Bob Johnson Single Match
Play Trophy. Pepper Thompson was the winner, first to have his name on the Trophy.
We also had Martin and Graham Muir attending with Mum, Jean. Martin presented “The Poms” Perpetual Trophy for the most improved player for the year. This was won by Clay Stewart.
Carol Ingram also attended the night accepting the Trophy Rick had won during the year, which she didn’t even know he had won.
The Club Champions for 2014 were:
Clay Stewart and Chris Douch.
B Grade Champion, Ray Fermor. Ladies Handicap Champion, Jean McLean.
Congratulations to all the Champions and to all who won trophies during the year.
