While it certainly poured at times in Bombala, particularly over Saturday night, the township only received around 60mms for the weekend.
It was the heavy rain towards Mt Darragh and Brown Mountain - over 250mms in some locations - which had the Bombala River racing by Sunday afternoon.
The river peaked in Bombala at around 4.0 metres in the afternoon, and fell below the official Minor Flood Level of 3.0 metres during the evening, with one end of Mahratta Street being closed.
And, flood aside, there is no doubt it has been a very good couple of months for the area when it comes to rainfall.
According to Weatherzone, Bombala received 46.8mms of rain throughout November, and 87.8mms for December so far.
While we are just short of being able to provide an annual rainfall, Weatherzone has recorded 596.8mms of rain for the period between January and November 2014. The average for that period between 1885 and 2014 is 564.4mms.
Last weekend’s rain will certainly add to the total for the year!
