The photo was taken by the Bombala Times in early November when the Foundation was first putting out a call for members in the local district.
The image shows Don with fellow former local footballers, John Bedingfeild, Flynn Callaway, Slip Reid, Barry Manning and Reigh Callaway.
The presentation of the photo was made to Don at Currawarna on Saturday, and again it was locals heavily involved in football that came along.
This time it was President of the Bombala Rugby League Club, Colin Ryan, life member with the local schoolboys football club, John Ratcliffe, and Don’s own son and former footballer, Tim Stewart.
The Men of League Foundation is certainly building momentum in the area, with members working towards providing assistance and support to past and present players, coaches, referees, officials and administrators from all levels of the game and the broader rugby league community.
The local group has been holding ham and meat raffles at the Globe Hotel to fundraise on Sundays, and would like to thank the community for its keen support so far.
There is one more raffle afternoon left to go this coming weekend before Christmas, and everyone is encouraged to come along and enjoy the Globe Hotel’s Family Fun Day this Sunday.
Raffle tickets will be on sale from 12 to 3pm, with proceeds going directly towards the Men of League Foundation. And a merry Christmas to all from the newly establishing group!
