Already jubilant with a dramatic win over big brothers Australia, New Zealanders are having a field day with a video clip showing Glenn Maxwell displaying a choking gesture to the Eden Park crowd as Saturday's group A epic went down to the wire. In the vision the all-rounder, standing in the deep, is seen turning to spectators and putting his hands to his neck. It wasn't an unreasonable assumption that the Kiwis would "choke" at that point - they had lost 5-15 to be six runs short of victory with only the one wicket in hand - and they appeared destined to incredibly fall short of a run chase of only 152. The crowd would have the last laugh on Maxwell, though, who had to watch Kane Williamson thud the ball over the rope only moments later to clinch victory for the Black Caps. After departing via a reckless shot for only one earlier in the afternoon, it wasn't the Victorian's day. The video was posted to Facebook by an excitable Kiwi by the name of Sam Holt. "This was Maxwell just before Kane Williamson tonked that 6 to win it... How's that for crowd / player banter?!" Holt wrote, captioning the video. First class, we reckon. Like most of his teammates he won't be pleased with how he batted, but good on him for having some fun in the field.
