The St Mary’s Parish community presented the night, with the ‘Starry Starry Night’ theme being beautifully captured by Naomi Bruce, Mary Ventry and their band of decorators, along with the help of the Catholic Ladies Organisation.
The debutantes and their partners this year were Tanika Hampshire and Adam Rodwell, Seanna Cox and William Regent, Loretta Hines and Lorenz Niven, Ana Ponsford and Aaron Cusbert, Karli Toms and Lochie Bruce, Janine Jamieson and Daniel Douch, Annie McGrath and Alex Rosten, Makayla Standen and Douglas Parsons, Casey Richardson and Lawrance Salter, and Davina Duthie and Jack Parr.
There were also ten adorable flowergirls and pageboys, with Miller Stewart and Joey Sullivan, Savanah Papalia and Jakeb Gay, Sarah Marks and Jack Edgecombe, Grace Phillips and Orlando Papalia, and Madison Papalia and Evan Phillips certainly adding to the charm of the evening.
St Joseph’s Principal, Phil Stubbs opened the ball, while Rob Letts guided the evening as Master of Ceremonies.
Later in the night Douglas Parsons made speech on behalf of the debs and partners, while Danny Farrell spoke on behalf of trainers and committee.
A beautiful cake was made and decorated for the occasion by Cleo Jamieson, and this was cut by former St Joseph’s students Karli Toms and Lochie Bruce, who as kindergarteners took part in the ball together years ago as flowergirl and pageboy.
The Deb Ball committee congratulate and thank the young couples on their commitment to participating in the Deb Ball and on their wonderful presentation and dancing, wishing them well into the future.
After the formal presentations of the evening, the happy crowd hit the dance floor themselves to enjoy a great social night, dancing among the stars till the early hours of the morning.
