EVEN bitter weather couldn’t prevent a big crowd from gathering for the highly anticipated clearance sale at ‘Rosemount’ in Ando last Saturday.
Armed with coats and boots, crowd numbers approached the 400 mark, with 214 registering for the sale run by Stewart Lee & Co.
The sale was something of a historic day for the area, with the collections of three generations of the Kimber family going under the hammer.
The biggest drawcards were the vintage vehicles on sale, which included antique cars, tractors, trucks and even horse drawn equipment.
There was also a huge array of collectables, which ranged from farm equipment through to furniture and a massive range of sundries.
Despite freezing weather that dished out everything from brief hail and snow flurries to rain, wind, and a brief period of sun, bidding was enthusiastic for the bulk of the items.
The antique cars in particular sold well, while the tractors attracted fair competition from both locals and those from outside the area who travelled especially for the sale.
