It was an incredibly cold morning in Jindabyne, so the 34 thawed out for the workshop by bouncing around on the gymnastics mats.
Zac ran a yoga-inspired warm up to ensure everyone was ready to go, and the group then worked on a piece of choreography for around an hour, with great results.
Before lunch, Zac took some time to talk to the kids about his life story and the performance industry. He emphasized that he was never the best in his dance class, and while it always took him a little longer to catch on, his dedication never wavered and that's why he's found success.
Zac has toured with Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, JLo and Britney Spears. He's danced with Katy Perry and performed in almost every imaginable awards show, including the Billboards recently.
Zac also talked about his accident; he fell three stories during rehearsals for an aerial act, breaking five bones in three limbs. Recovery took 16 months, and doctors were certain he wouldn't dance again. With intensive physiotherapy, yoga, and exercise, Zac bounced back completely.
The young attendees enjoyed a lunch of gnocchi and a surprise birthday cake for dancer, Amy Fraser, who was celebrating her 16th birthday.
In the afternoon dancers regrouped, warmed up with some more yoga, and started in on new choreography. Zac structured the afternoon as a mock audition, helping individuals hone their skills.
The Bombala ranged in age from 12 to 17 years old, and included Larissa Ponsford, Ana Ponsford, Faith Cocker, Brady Jones and Mackenzie Phillips, all of whom had high praise for the workshop.
