As part of the Boco Rock Wind Farm development process, the islands were removed to ensure that the large trucks transporting the wind turbine pieces could manoeuvre through the intersection.
Now that the turbine transportation is complete, the Council has re-instated the islands, with the first, in Forbes Street, being completed last Thursday.
Work was also taking place to re-instate the traffic island approaching the roundabout in Maybe Street at the time of our deadlines on Tuesday morning, with only minor disruption to local traffic being experienced.
The Bombala Council points out that the work was paid for by the transportation company involved and the wind farm itself given the necessity of removing the islands in order for the turbines to pass through town.
