Under 10s had a forfeit on the weekend, with Moruya not being able to make it down for the game. This meant that there was only Under 7s and 8s to play, and they had a challenge being part of a Mini Carnival and having three games for the day at Eden.
Under 8s
Under 8s worked hard with many having to face bigger stronger opposition in each game they played.
This team has been slowly slogging away all year with all the team members building their skill with each and every game.
Xander Paynter is still a strong leader in this team, however there are many coming up the ranks this was able to be seen on the weekend. Oliver Stephen, Sam Richardson and Finn Sullivan are happy to step up and push through, with Arlen Hillyer, Jackson Tellis, Lachlan Reed making runs when they can.
Alex Peisley and Lara Manning have both improved very much during the season proving that they are very much a part of what makes this team gel together.
Under 7s
Under 7s did not let the three games put them off. Gracie Brownlie showed courage and some great runs in the first game before retiring early due to illness.
Josh Tellis once again showing his speed bagging a few trys and defending well. Freddie Merrit had some solid hit ups and tackles supported well by Ruby Smith with her displayed of bone rattling tackles.
Jake Brown once again made his barnstorming runs leaving some opposition on the ground in his wake. Torin Hillyer worked tirelessly as did Jacob Gay costing his dad a few dollars for each tackle he made. Mitch Reed and Joey Sullivan worked hard throughout the day improving each time they play.
The two youngest players Declan Brown and Cody Bruce performed above the age with a couple of strong hit ups. Well done to Under 7s and Under 8s for working hard throughout the season and especially at the Mini Carnival.
Thank you to all those who have worked tirelessly throughout the season, both committee members and player parents. It has been a long cold season but a lot of enjoyment for the children and extremely worthwhile.
Everyone is invited to attend Presentation Day on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Bombala RSL following the AGM at 2pm.
Following the formalities there will be a disco, open to all Bombala children under 12 years of age; even those who don’t have any connection to the football club are welcome.
This will be a Bombala children’s celebration held at the RSL. Supervision will be provided however parents will need to accompany their children at the disco.
For further information please contact Club Committee Members. Additional details will be in next week’s edition of the Bombala Times.
