In fact, the large number of diners had the organisers busily arranging extra tables as they happily welcomed 100 people along to the Golf Club for the annual event.
With sunshine streaming through the windows, and lovely flower arrangements adding to the “almost spring time” feel, a cheerful afternoon was enjoyed among many friends.
A particular highlight was of course the fashion parade, with a lovely array of garments from the Anglican Op Shop being put on show as very special guest, Sophie Campbell compared.
This year there were both local ladies and gentlemen kindly modelling the outfits, with Ian Haslingden, Jim Longden, Alan Murdoch, Stewart Lee, Simone Peadon, Jayne Sellers, Sue Haslingden and Chris Page hitting the catwalk in very good humour.
The garments were well received, and there were many admiring comments and plenty of smiles throughout the “real fashion for real people” parade, which even offered some great laughs this year!
Of course the Anglican ladies also served up a delectable spread of home baked dishes, with all manner of casseroles, stews and vegetable creations being eagerly enjoyed.
From cheesecake through to fruit salads, the homemade desserts were given the same treatment, and the lovely meal was washed down with a cuppa and warm conversation.
Of course there was high praise for the food and the atmosphere on the day, with a beautiful cross stitch work from Gloria Robinson being raffled and some lucky door prizes being given away to add to the fun, not to mention the op shop treasures table being perused!
The Anglican ladies would like to offer their sincere thanks to all who contributed dishes or their help on the day, and of course those who came along to ensure the luncheon’s success.
And remember, it’s ‘Op Shops Week’ this week and there are sales on in the Anglican Op Shops in both Bombala and Delegate so go in and grab a bargain!
As always the Anglican Parish also welcomes everyone to Sunday services and support at any time, with enquiries through 6458 3018.
