The heartfelt tributes continue to pour in for Marnie Lee Cave, identified as the woman found dead under the Bega River bridge at Tathra last Wednesday.
Her untimely death remains the subject of a police inquiry and a post-mortem examination was expected to be completed by Monday hoping to shed light on the mysterious circumstances.
However, while detectives pursue all angles in a case they are treating as suspicious, Marnie Lee's family can take some comfort from the numerous messages of love and support flowing from this community.
Within an hour of her name being released by police on Saturday afternoon, a Facebook tribute page had been created and condolences have been posted regularly ever since.
Among them is the beautiful one above, alluding to Marnie Lee's silver butterfly pendant, which was used by police in a public appeal on Thursday to help uncover her identity.
“Marnie you have been taken from us way too soon. You were this little ray of light that made your presence known to all. You will be sadly missed. You are now God’s butterfly, spread your wings and be free. You will be forever in our hearts.”
Another wrote “whenever I see a butterfly I will always think of you and you will always be in my heart forever more.”
Many referred to Marnie Lee's “kind soul”, big smile and “bubbly personality”.
Other tributes wished her peace among the angels.
“May the angels keep you safe till we meet again,” wrote one.
“This is just too sad, RIP beautiful girl. You were always gorgeous whenever I saw you. Thanks for your smiles and hugs. May the angels carry you now,” said another.
There were also several messages calling on those either responsible for her death or who know information about it that may help police to come forward so the family can also find some peace.
“It truly is sad. I hope that whoever has done this comes forward. The family deserves the truth for their special girl.”
