School excursion
On Monday, November 16 Year 1 and 2 from Bombala Public School and K-2 from Delegate Public School took a trip to Eden to the Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre.
The pupils took a guided tour of the centre and learnt about local whale species, felt real whale bones and met the fish.
Pupils handled sea stars, crabs and anemones in the touch tank and learnt about the science behind tsunamis.
Here is what some of the pupils reported back:
“We had recess at the Lookout. It was delicious, well at least it was for me.” (Hayden)
“At the Discovery Centre we watched a film about dolphins. Next we had a look at the shells, I went to the touch tank and got to touch a sea anemone.” (Jake)
Rodeo comes to school
On Thursday, November 19, Bombala Public School pupils enjoyed their last visiting artist for the year, Heidi’s Rodeo Circus.
The pupils were entertained by the Tale of Heidi as she competed in a number of tricky events such as whip cracking, lassoing and hula hoop spinning activities.
Heidi involved the pupils in the demonstrations and there was lots of action and laughter.
Orientation Day
Next week, Week 9, the Kindys are back for their last orientation day on Wednesday with a complimentary sausage sizzle.
Shopfront and fridge calendar
Bombala Public School’s community liaison officer, Chloe Murphy has been busy creating new displays in the schools’ shop front window – be sure to have a look when you’re down town.
Ms Murphy has also produced a wonderful magnetic fridge calendar with all the dates of activities listed until the end of term.
Bike and Road Safety Day
Recently, pupils participated in the Bike and Bus Safety Day which was a resounding success with support from local police – Senior Constable Nathan Marks and Constable Steve Gay - along with support from Cath Sherwood the Police Liaison Officer.
Pupils covered various safety skills to keep them safe when on their bikes, when travelling on the school bus and general safety.
