Radio announcer Michael Mackenzie told the choristers that he would play all the tracks this week.
“Our religious unit loves them too and will play some on a special Christmas Day breakfast,” he said.
The Bombala Rotary and Community Choir has for the last 14 years sustained a choir of 30 voices and during that time they have produced four CDs..
Under the guiding hand of choir master, Claus Zimmer, the 30 untrained voices, ranging in age from 13 to 80 have been moulded into a force of nature.
Chorister Michelle Farran said the multi-generational group not only sings regularly together but also has a strong social bond.
“Practice always being rounded off with dinner at the club or local hotel,” she said.
The proceeds from the sale of these albums go to Rotary projects
The latest album that was three years in the making was a huge effort by Claus Zimmer and his wife Patricia.
The album has carols from around the world sung in six languages
“That is a feat in itself getting people of more mature years with failing hearing to sing with a credible French, Italian, German and Maori accent,” Ms Farran said.
“Claus is an accomplished arranger and his arrangement of 'The North Wind Carol' is I think really special. “This Australian icon, along with 'The Carol of the Birds' does not get enough airplay in Christmas carol playlists,” she said.
The Bombala Rotary and Community Choir’s next performance is playing at Cooma’s Carols by Candlelight on Friday, December 18 at Centennial Park, Cooma.
Family Festivities start at 5pm with carols starting at 7pm.
