Everyone was refreshed after the holiday break and keen to get into planning activities for the year.
First on the agenda was a celebration of the January birthdays.
A lovely morning tea was set up, with birthday girls Helen Daish, Lil Goodyer and Tanya-Lee Love all blowing out their candles and accepting best wishes from the group.
A successful discussion followed with ideas and plans set out for the next three months.
A delightful impromptu presentation by visiting puppet maker Jacquie Ford was a surprise highlight of the day.
Jacquie promised to return, bringing more of her fantastic puppets and conducting a session to create finger puppets.
The group also put on their garden gloves and ventured out to the back veranda at the community centre to refurbish the many terracotta pots there.
Everyone was happy and appreciative that the shade sails had been put up as they toiled away installing new soil and plants in the numerous pots.
All that activity certainly worked up appetites and the special barbecue lunch was most welcome.
Terry Daish kindly volunteered to cook and everyone enjoyed sausages and salads plus ice cream for sweets.
It was a perfect lunch for a very busy summer’s day!
